A group of investigative journalists, including @michaeldweiss, obtained another intercepted conversation between Hungary’s FM Péter Szijjártó and Lavrov. It appears that Moscow may have been able to access virtually any information it sought from the EU/NATO via Budapest.

Bloomberg just dropped the Orbán tapes and it reads like a bad fanfic. Hungary’s prime minister spent a phone call with Putin calling him a “lion,” casting himself as the helpful little “mouse,” offering Budapest as a venue to end the war on Russia’s terms, and closing with “I am at your service.”

@JuliaManch @thehill This is basically acting as Trump's press secretary - "he said this," "he said that," etc. The job of journalism should be to examine his claims and inform readers whether they are true, or in the case of Trump, almost certainly false.

Data on this is highly questionable outside of an n=2 (Harris + Clinton). In the thousands of downballot and gubernatorial elections we have data for, there's no evidence women are less electable. Female candidates do better with women and worse with men, but women vote more.

The tragic irony of the last few years is that, had the USG given Ukraine only a fraction of the weapons that they have expended against Iran in a few weeks (Patriots, Tomahawks, etc), Ukraine would have won, oil prices would not be skyrocketing and the US would be more secure.
