👀 wow I wonder who joined the re:Invent leadership team this year and made sure there would be the crossover event of the century (huge thanks to the events team for making this happen!) #AWS #MagicTheGathering

@Infosec_Taylor my pushback on this is always the same, "Links were made to be clicked." ...that's literally their purpose it's crazy that this "metric" has held on for so long in the community

4) Who clicked the link to learn more and might make a good security champion All 1000x more useful than "we tricked the plebs this month in clicking a LINK." If your security program can be brought down by clicking a link... you've got 99 problems, but end users aren't one.

STOP. DOING. THIS. Use simulations to train how to report emails. Literally send them saying "let's practice how to report this example phish." All simulations like this do is prove people click links. NO FREAKING KIDDING! There is no avoiding clicking links!

@HackingDave re-read your story post: twitter.com/HackingDave/st… that should bring a smile back to your face!
Dave Kennedy@HackingDave

Long post here. People look at the success I've had and don't see what it took to get here. I wasn't supposed to be here. I wasn't supposed to be successful. I failed out of high school, teachers telling me I wouldn't be anything in life. My parents knew I had potential, but couldn't pull it out of me for me to recognize it. The Marines taught me a lot - more so how to go all in on something that I was terrible at and build upon a foundation. The truth to my success? Surround myself with amazing f'n and kind people through my whole life that plug my weaknesses and I plug theirs. We feed off of each other. Uplift them and they uplift me. My wife is an amazing example, we were in the car last night talking about how we got here. I explained to Erin that I wouldn't be here without her. She was the first to support me when we just had twins, and I took the risk of leaving a perfectly stable job with 6 months of mortgage payments in the bank and that was it. I was a VP and CSO of a Fortune 1000 company. She was a sign language interpreter, but decided to focus on kids and stay at home with 3 children. She took the responsibilities of starting a company I couldn't do and my weaknesses and together we are a powerhouse couple. Strongest marriage in the world. She is truly the source of my strength and our VP of Finance at TS. Left that to work in the basement of my house because I believed the two of us could create something amazing together. Never in our wildest dreams would we imagine having the success we've had with TS and BD or anything else we did. My parents - always there to support me no matter how crazy it sounded. Hell, my Dad works for me and not because he's my Dad but because he has the same passion to make things better and he's amazing as hell at what he does. Flash forward, bringing in friends that I trust to help run companies, and recognizing that we can only take something so far. The leadership team we have at TS have been through trials and tribulations and when times get tough we don't blame one another - we just put our heads down and execute to get stuff done. We all care for each others shared successes. At BD we had from day one an incredible team of friends pushing forward on a belief we could change the industry. We all hit certain heights, and recognized we needed more. A year ago we brought in an incredible leadership team to BD that I'm in awe with everyday that took us to all new heights and continue to do so. The lesson I've learned: It's people. It's always people. Treat people with love, care, respect, and help them when they are going through tough times as they do for you. Surround yourself with damn good and amazing people and friends. It's not just the leadership team, we are one team of peers working together. Everyone working everyday for one goal and mission that we all believe in - make the world a better place and regardless of success you've had, recognize that you aren't better than anyone else, you just have different experiences. TLDR: You can do the same. Take risks and believe in yourself and believe in the people around you. Be humble, never view yourself above anyone else (because you aren't), surround yourself with positive people, cut out anyone that is negative to you or your goals, and focus on living a life of helping others. Good karma creates good karma. Negative karma creates negative karma. One day at a time. It takes time, but it works.

@neil_h_watson @ben11kehoe I couldn’t find a non-smart TV when I looked in the spring, or at least I couldn’t find a reasonable one (mid-to-high end) also, seeing less ability to not configure the “smartness”. now being forced to agree to ToS & privacy policies, connect to network, etc. 🤦
