@MattDeLuca @thebeltwayagent I like Simmons, and read his basketball book and loved it. But he’s not Feinstein. Or to really stretch it, not in the ballpark with Michael Lewis. Most aren’t though.

People really don’t understand how bad sports writing was pre Simmons & how much of the media we get to consume now is a direct result of him personally + grantland & ringer, I even think he was responsible for getting 538 to espn, probably one of the biggest media figures of the 21st century.

Bill Simmons is the reason i got into writing when i was like 14 years old, a few years ago i thought his schtick got tired and unplugged from his podcasts but when i listen to The Rewatchables mailbag and he drops “so Anthony Davis is Waingro” i remember why he’s the GOAT

I’m not gonna add every show I’ve seen, character limits. But I’ll add I’ve seen Succession and Band of Brothers. Let’s not be ridiculous. Watching Pluribus with the wife but she’s out tonight. Just watched episode 1 of Mayor of Kingstown. Will continue. Carry on.

This saddest thing about these "child-free" people is that none of them are doing anything interesting with their lives at all. It's true that not having children gives you a lot more free time and far fewer responsibilities. And the best that you can think to do with all of that is go to brunch, watch TV, and buy more candles? Tragically pathetic.

When you watch stuff like this as a parent, you realise how truly empty and meaningless all of those things are.

Dear Michelle Obama. Let me school your miserable muthafuckin ass since you can’t seem to remember how blessed you are. You are married to the first Black president in American history. You are the first Black First Lady in American history. Because of that, you and Barack left the White House richer than when yall slithered into it. Because of that, your Black ass got a multi-million-dollar book deal. Because of that, you and your FAKE ASS HUSBAND walked away with a $60 million Netflix deal. Because of that, yall own mansions. Because of that, yall own beachfront property. Because of that, yalls kids and grandkids are set for life. Because of ALL OF THAT, your family’s net worth is over $100 million. And yet you got the muthafuckin nerve to still get on stage whining like you picking cotton in 1855 instead of sipping champagne in Martha’s Vineyard. No Black American woman will ever be as privileged as you are bitch. So sit your ungrateful, race-hustling ass down and thank the country you spent 8 years shitting on. America gave you EVERYTHING. The least you could do is shut the fuck up and smile, ho.

the world was never meant to be this connected. humans were not meant to listen to opinions from people or care about events thousands of miles away on a daily basis everyday it is destructive to our happiness. future generations will view social media the way we view tobacco

also co-founded one of the most influential platforms of the internet era -walked away from it twice to live on his own terms -built another multi-billion-dollar company from scratch -lives minimalist, obsessed with clarity and focus -meditates daily, silent retreats, practices discipline most people can’t imagine experiments with tech, finance, wellness, philosophy -spends more time building than talking avoids drama, rarely responds to noise splits time between different cities, chooses quiet over attention -invests in creators, open source, decentralization -cares about long-term impact more than headlines -lives simply, thinks deeply, moves intentionally

Anger lasts 90 seconds biologically. Anything beyond that is you choosing to refuel it with your thoughts. You're not "still mad", you're replaying it, reheating it, keeping it alive. Emotions are visitors. Stop offering them a permanent room.
