i begged for the end of my 4 days, 13 hr night shifts. It was my last night. It was the kind of night shift that could have broken me, long, draining, filled with the usual flurry of patients and paperwork. But something mind-blowing happened that night, something so simple, yet so profound, it reminded me how little things, those fleeting moments, can change everything. We had a patient, a remarkable woman of over 85 years. After weeks of being in the hospital, it was time for her to go home. Her recovery had been long, but her spirit… well, her spirit had begun to fade. I was eager for her to leave; a change of environment could do wonders, but I also knew she was not the same joyful soul she once was. As I walked past her room, something caught my eye, sketches, scattered across her table. I paused. It was a glimpse of something personal, something real. I casually asked, "Who made these?" and she lit up. "That’s me," she said, pointing to a beautiful sketch she made of one of her friends in the same ward. The sketch was stunning, better than anything I could ever hope to do. And that’s when she told me...she was a renowned professor of fine art. Wait, what? Here I was, thinking I was the artist. I sat down beside her, sharing with her how I dabbled in drawing too. The room shifted, her eyes twinkled, her energy lifted, and just like that, we were connected. She gave me a challenge, seven seconds to sketch her. I worked quickly, capturing her youthful face as best as I could. She was stunned. "You did that in seconds?" she asked, amazed. But the real magic happened when I transformed my simple sketch into a box, a three-dimensional piece of art. Her eyes widened. "How is this even possible?" she exclaimed. "Madam, we played with paper well back home in Nigeria!" The ward buzzed with excitement. She told everyone about this young doctor who could create magic with a mere sheet of paper. Her mood? Transformed. She was no longer the tired, quiet woman; she was bright, joyful, almost radiant. And then, she said the words that stuck with me long after: “Dr. Ose, I’m going to keep this artwork forever. Thank you, my boy.” That was the best night shift I’ve ever had. No paycheck could compare to the fulfillment of knowing I made an impact on someone’s life, especially a great-grandmother who, for a moment, felt like a young artist again. my 7 seconds job. I may never see her again till she bids the earth farewell, but I've had a lasting impact on her. It’s true, you know. Little things matter.

Until a few minutes ago, I didn't know the Premier League VAR operated from a central location. I'd always thought they operate from every stadium. The Premier League’s VAR operates from Stockley Park, a business estate in west London. The VAR hub contains a classroom, a gym, canteen and recovery zone. For every game, there's a primary VAR, an assistant VAR and a replay operator and they all connect to the referee on the pitch. Infrastructure at its best.

In the Netherlands where minimum wage is €2,350. When you see a Dutch Man with a nice shoe, he is eager to tell you how cheap he bought it. In Nigeria the poverty capital of the world, where minimum wage is just €45, we are eager to show how expensive we bought our shoes. “My shoe fit buy your wardrobe”. I don’t blame people like this man who take advantage. Nigerian Poverty comes with a poisonous mentality.

The biggest football match in the world may just be about to break football's own rules. And I don’t think anyone has heard yet. Reports suggest that for the first time in the history of the tournament, the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final may feature a halftime show. Nothing is confirmed yet, but the names being linked to it are Chris Martin and Coldplay, and indications are that the performance could run up to 25 minutes. If that number is accurate, there is a legal problem. Law 7 of the IFAB Laws of the Game is not ambiguous. Players are entitled to a halftime interval not exceeding 15 minutes. The duration must be stated in competition rules. And it may only be altered with the referee's permission. A 25-minute halftime show would be 10 minutes beyond what the laws of the game permit. If this report is accurate, someone will need to explain which law they are relying on to make it happen. Because Law 7 does not give them the room. We’ll see how it goes. My name is Ajoje. I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer. I write on the Law and Business of Football, a lot. Repost and Follow if you want to read more posts like this.

Your votes actually count. Parts of it gets rigged, but it counts. If it doesn't, politicians won't invest hundreds of millions in vote buying. Rigging is mathematically limited, and if the gap is huge enough, you can't close it. Get your PVC.

The truth is, he who REALLY wants to pull Nigeria out of this horrible situation and SUCCEED with it, must be ready to lose his life in the process. But who wants to lose his life? This is the question.

This is what you people don’t get. When we say the EPL is the best league in the world, we’re talking about the competitiveness and overall attractiveness of the league not just standout teams. The competitiveness is what makes the EPL what it is. English teams might struggle in Europe, but within the league, nobody compromises. Chelsea stopped Spurs from winning the league in 2016 for no reason other than rivalry handing Leicester the title. A team fighting relegation will battle for a draw like it’s a cup final. Burnley used to frustrate top teams for fun, Luton came into the league fighting like every game was life or death. There are no “easy games.” Meanwhile, in other leagues, teams adjust schedules or priorities to help clubs perform better in Europe. In the EPL, it’s simple hold that. Every team is on its own. The league literally thrives on hate-watching. Chelsea fans were hate-watching Brighton at a point. Everton fans treat Liverpool games like a personal mission. Arsenal fans will sit through a full Spurs game just to pray on their downfall. Imagine Barcelona fans hate watching Eibar it just doesn’t hit the same. In other leagues, teams play football. In the EPL, teams play war. 20th place can ruin 1st place’s season and half the country will be watching live to celebrate it. That chaos, rivalry, and pure shithousery is exactly why it’s the best league in the world.

We say the Premier League is the best league in the world but why can't we ever build teams close to the quality of Bayern, Madrid, PSG or Barcelona?
