Legislation (A5155) sponsored by Asw. Sweeney and advanced by the Judiciary Committee today would require social media companies and communications providers to respond more quickly to search warrants tied to domestic violence and stalking investigations.

This change could give health care providers more flexibility to modernize facilities, respond to community needs, and improve access to surgical and outpatient care across New Jersey.

Today, the Health Infrastructure committee advanced legislation sponsored by Asm. Verrelli that would remove outdated restrictions in State law that currently limit where certain ambulatory care facilities can relocate.

The bill would require prosecutors and law enforcement to notify the State Parole Board when a parolee is charged with violating a restraining order, helping ensure parole officials have the information needed to respond appropriately and better protect victims.

A restraining order should never be treated like paperwork. Today, the Judiciary Committee advanced A2240 to strengthen coordination between law enforcement, the courts, and the State Parole Board when a parolee violates a domestic violence restraining order.

That's not a typo. That's how many of our New Jersey neighbors have lost food assistance—since July.   And it didn't stop at our border. Participation has dropped in every single state in America, leaving families to stretch a grocery budget further than it should have to go.

As we come to the end of May, we reflect on a moving moment from this month’s Assembly voting session, when Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin rose to remember former Assemblyman Albert Coutinho, whose impact on Newark’s Ironbound community & the State House is still deeply felt.

It will allow individuals to walk in voluntarily or be connected through 988 for up to 24 hours of stabilization, treatment, and follow-up support services. “This is both the moral and right thing to do,” Katz said during the visit. “When you’re in crisis, you need a safe place.”

Recently @AswAndreaKatz toured the new Bergen County Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center ahead of its opening. The space is designed to provide people experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis with immediate care, support, and a safe place to go.

The visit underscored the importance of standing with New Jersey’s farming community as recovery efforts continue and highlighted the need for coordinated state and federal support to help protect the Garden State’s agricultural industry.

After unusually warm temperatures caused crops to bloom early, freezing temperatures between April 19-22 severely damaged blossoms & developing fruit. Some farms are facing catastrophic losses, with statewide agricultural damage estimated in the hundreds of millions.
