Premature babies taken out of Gaza at the start of the war are being reunited with their families. Hospitals in Gaza were almost completely shut down as many were bombarded by Israeli forces. Around 30 babies were sent across the border to Egypt in November 2023 to receive specialist medical care. Not all of them survived. More than two years later, the toddlers’ return back home is bittersweet for their families.
