We like to think we make decisions based on logic. But, how often do numbers really move you? We’re emotional beings. The why behind your actions is rooted in story. Story sticks. Stats fade. Tell someone a fantastic story, and they'll remember it for decades. Tell someone a statistic, and they'll forget it by lunch. If you want to influence decisions, don’t just throw logic or features at people. Tell a story. @VolvoCarUSA gets this. If you've seen it already, it's 100% worth a re-watch. Notice how they make you feel, all without a single spec about the car ... 🥲 It's so stunningly effective at shifting the priority lens away from the traditional lenses of vanity, materialism, keeping up with the Joneses, and so on … The story they tell here prioritizes substance over prestige and status. Love it.

The best journeys require great teammates. 🏆🔥

Most relationships don’t plateau. They either grow together 🌱 or drift apart. ⛵️ Have you noticed we rarely talk about why or how this happens? It's just like sports leagues. Not everyone wants to put in the work to grow ... and that’s totally okay ... But if you do, you need teammates who are playing in the same league. We expect effort to drive success in sports, education, and careers. So why do we expect quality relationships to just happen without it? The best put in deliberate effort to progress: JV --> Varsity --> D1 --> Pro --> Olympics And, they don't do it alone. They train with teammates, push each other, and celebrate each other's progress. What if you started approaching life the same way? Think of your closest relationships as a group project. Even a 1-on-1 relationship is still a team effort. For that team to work, each person plays two roles: 🏋️‍♂️ Athlete – Doing the work to improve. Accepting coaching. 🔥 Coach – Investing in others. Helping them level up. The best teams don’t need perfect balance at all times. What matters is alignment, curiosity, coachability, and drive. And joyful effort. Invest daily in the actions you know will eventually lead to the outcomes you want. When those outcomes arrive is secondary. To be clear ... 👉 Joyful effort is EVERYTHING. 👉 The when of progress matters less than the fact that we’re moving forward together. Relationships are the most important factor in a long, joyful life. But quality relationships, like elite performance, don’t happen without deliberate effort. You wouldn’t expect success in athletics, education, or career without work. So why expect it in relationships? Your best relationships take work. Alignment. Joyful effort. Deliberateness. Vulnerability. It's real work. It's fantastically difficult. It's so worth it though. Surround yourself with people chasing life at the same level. Not everyone wants to go to the Olympics. And that’s okay. But if you do, be clear-eyed about who’s putting in the work to take that journey with you. For me and those around me—let’s joyfully do the work. Let’s encourage each other to live life at an Olympic level. Forward! 😀
