South India is more Hindu in practice than North India. Any foreigner who has visited both places can easily attest to this fact. The difference is that South Indians know how to keep religion a private matter. If dragging religion into politics is your metric for religiosity then sure, North India is more Hindu.

Should be kept in mind that the IDF is allowed to detain any Palestinian for any reason without due process so long as extremely broad criterion of "national security" and "counter-terrorism" are satisfied. This is a carte blanche for mass murder via purportedly legal means.
