My birthday weekend started off on the right musical note w/a fun visit to Academy Award winning composer, Bill Conti’s home. So funny, warm & full of spunk w/great stories! And of course I had to get him to sign my “The Karate Kid” score vinyl. Love that score & movie so much.

Very sad to report that a true musical genius, friend Thomas Bähler, has passed away. Edwin & I had lunch with him years ago at Chez Jay in Santa Monica. Loved story after story. Honored he signed 4 of my prized soundtracks. Strength to his family right now.

Happy bday to James Dean who would have been 95. Today on his bday interesting enough I acquired a mint LP sdtk from Dean's last film "Giant" (1956) signed by the composer Dimitri Tiomkin. Being a big James Dean fan & having grown up near him in IN, this means quite a bit to me.

The fun never stops in Hollywood! Lovely to finally meet a composer I've admired for decades recently, Max Richter. His score for "Hamnet" is sublime & I'm sure it will be nominated for an Oscar for 'Best Original Score'. The movie is beautiful, heartfelt & will move your soul.

More Hollywood adventures continue! ttended a concert/Q&A for "Avatar: Fire and Ash". Participants include; James Cameron (director), Simon Franglen (composer) & Mark Ronsen & Andrew Wyatt (songwriters). Mr. Cameron holds the #1, #3 & #4 spots in top box office hits of all time.

I was fortunate enough to meet some of the most talented stars, directors & composers recently! Honored to have been invited to the private reception for "Sinners". Brilliant film! Also great to chat with Michael B. Jordan who also starred in "Creed" & "Creed II" & many more.

Listening to this simply beautiful concert work by the late composer James Horner. This was his last completed concert work before his passing. These six parts really speak to my soul. If you’ve not listened to this, you may want to. If this doesn’t move you to tears nothing can.

Many don’t know, but my mother, is quite the artist. She painted this ornament that we hang proudly on our Christmas tree. This is just one of many I’m lucky to have and a treasure every one.

One of my all-time favorites "Scrooge" 1970 starring Albert Finney. I only wish the soundtrack was out on CD or digital for a new generation to enjoy. Hopefully one day. This is the signed Blu-ray by Leslie Bricusse. One of my favorites in my "tiny" collection. 🎬🎄🎅

Sad we lost Diane Keaton today. She was 79. Funny running into her at Dave & Busters a few years ago while we both were playing The Wizard of Oz game. So many incredible performances. I particularly liked her in “Baby Boom.” Read more here tinyurl.com/ym6krmvj
