The storm tears through the darkened sky, we crawl, we cry, we wonder why. Through the haze, I catch his stare — still and calm, as if not there. I close my eyes, let fear break free, and when I look — he’s gone, I see. The storm still rages, wild to see, but now the fear bows down to me.
