As you know I like stonework in all its forms. These are a couple of interesting stone seats located near Kendal Castle which give great views of the south of the town.

This is a fantastic double garage we’ve stone faced at beautiful Casterton for MK Conversations Ltd. Our work is almost complete. There is a bit of pointing to do and slate window sills to install

We have recently completed a boundary wall at Holme Primary School. I prefer the look of the wall without mortar pointing, but it’s better to point it for structural integrity and weather protection. I’ll let you be the judge😊😊😊

Here is a video about Quarry Stonework that has been created by Ian Wood Photography. It was filmed at Newby Bridge at a new-build property which we are stone-facing. We have also built a dry-stone boundary wall at the property. Check out the video here - vimeo.com/515387698/4f86…

Here is a stile in a dry-stone wall located between Orrest Head and Far Orrest, near Windermere. I like the way the sunlight is catching the stones and the tree behind the wall. (Photograph taken before the lockdown)

These are photographs of work in progress on a job we did in 2018 for John Everiss, an award-winning garden designer. He created a Garden of Reflection at the Chorley Flower Show to provide a lasting memorial to the men and women of the Chorley borough who served during WW1

This is a large garage we’ve stone faced at Casterton for MK Conversions. We just need to point it now.

This is a job we did for Roland Hill Ltd at a property at Old Hall Road, Windermere, before the first lockdown. There were 200 metres of retaining wall. I like the effect the green slate, which was from Coniston, gives the retaining wall. I think we did a really good job with it.

We have started working at a new build at Newby Bridge. We have a large boundary wall to build with local blue slate before we stoneface the house with Coniston green slate. It’s a nice job to start the year.

These stones at Kendal Castle, seen here bathed in late afternoon sunshine, have been at this site for centuries

I love to see great examples of stonework in the Lake District. Here is an amazing stone-stepped path at the start of the ascent of Helm Crag at Grasmere

I love to see great examples of stonework. Here is a picture of St Margaret's Church at Low Wray, which was built in 1856.

We have recently been rebuilding part of a massive retaining wall at Gatebeck. A huge crack appeared in the wall so we acted before it collapsed. We moved tons of material, put in a concrete foundation and concrete retaining wall before stone facing it using the original stones.

I love the way that those who built this dry-stone wall near Helm Crag at Grasmere have incorporated this huge boulder. It shows great skills and workmanship.
