I enjoy the proper framing of a "colonial era law". People don't realize just how much homophobia has been forced on much of the world. Queer liberation is intertwined with battling colonialism and imperialism.

We need to root out transphobia in the DFL party. Proper identification and use of pronouns is the bare minimum we as DFLers should be doing in our party business. Complaints from trans & nonbinary DFLers and allies should not have been dismissed, especially without redress.

i love being SD60 DFL chair BECAUSE of my neighbors. SD60 works hard to create a leadership space within the DFL for our trans & Somali neighbors. meanwhile, that work is constantly undone by the Minnesota DFL, esp table officers, where anti-Somali rhetoric is common place.

I encourage everyone to take the time to read this today. Luna’s experience matches mine immensely and the hurt, anger, and disappointment doesn’t just go away. We cannot continue to volunteer our time, effort, and energy into a party that doesn’t give that back to us.
