@sieenns Government is already doing that. Loblaw got 12 million for new fridges a few years back. The cost of operating a grocery store by the city will be much greater than subsidizing a location.

@Rvguy18 And they took the money and ran. I think the Toronto pilot is going to be pretty small so as someone in the policy space I'm curious to see how that goes. It's a tougher situation in Ottawa because the grocery supply chain is very bad here.

@sieenns Unfortunately, that would make sense. If there is a food dessert, make it easier to open a business; reduced property taxes ect. Grocery business is nit easy. The city will just flush away tax dollars.

saw a large pack of chicken hot dogs at the grocery store this morning: 39 hot dogs in a single pack. such a random ass number, it HAS to be a game for those companies.
