@simonkernick Just re-reading the first two Dennis Milne books after 15-20 years. Absolutely incredible, still love them!. Rather worryingly love Dennis (don't know what it says about me to root for a murderer) I'm reluctant to read the 3rd, but will. You need to bring him back-)

@simonkernick Just finished reading The first 48 hours, most of the characters are nasty, 1 character is sadistic which makes the book all the more interesting, plenty of twists & turns, good plots & sub plots. An enjoyable read👍

The First 48 Hours by @simonkernick is our first #ReadingHour crime fiction recommendation of the year! The tale of a violent big money kidnapping gang & the policeman who is supposed to be investigating them. It's clever & fast paced.

Read @simonkernick's "The First 48 Hours". A welcome palate cleanser after wrestling with the largely plotless late Nabokov. Accurately summed up by one character thinking 'this whole job with Logan Quinn is extremely convoluted.' Gripping from the opening page with strongly 1/2
