A large fire has broken out at Viva Energy's Geelong (Corio) oil refinery in Victoria, Australia — one of only two operational oil refineries in the country. A deadly armed robbery and shootout occurred on Thursday, April 9, 2026, on Crownwood Road in Ormonde, south of Johannesburg.
