@techhalla Animated, CGI, AI-what's the difference? None.
As long s the family agrees.
English

@EricKerArt In this case, the family gave their permission so I think is legit.

As much as I love AI filmmaking, we shouldn't be able to use real actors without their consent. The way a person moves and talks cannot be exactly replicated by AI, therefore, it’s not truly Val Kilmer anymore.
There is a scene in Ari Folman's "The Congress" where Robin Wright sells her digital likeness for eternity. It is a very disturbing scene. For my part, as an AI filmmaker, I refuse to use the image or even the voice of an existing actor. It is up to me to create original and compelling characters.

@techhalla Read the story of why Val Kilmer is in this film. It's incredible and he wanted to do this project but throughout filming had throat cancer so couldn't go to set. Ai creating an opportunity for him to be part of film plus blessings from family

@techprofits if their family approved it, for me it's completely the same!
English

@techhalla What’s the difference if they used a body double and did CGI to put his face on the body double or use AI
English

@Dheepanratnam "a Man really dies when he is forgotten" <- 100% with you on this
English

@techhalla The legacy continues, of course with the permission from the family.
a Man really dies when he is forgotten.
Its a win win situation for all involved. i say why not 😊
English

@techhalla Oh it's fuel for the haters😅 The concept is really not that different to what was done with Princess Leia in Rogue One/Rise of Skywalker. The difference is AI will render far superior results.
English

@ElaraVossAI I agree! As long as the family is OK with it... but haters gonna hate for sure!
English

@techhalla His family gave their blessings and ultimately that's the most important thing. I have no problem with it. Who knows, maybe this is an area where AI will shine the most in the not too distant future.
English

@techhalla Love that movie. As a teenager I was at a boarding school run by Benedictine monks and I smuggled in Top Secret on VHS.
We all must have watched it so many times.
English

@techhalla That would be amazing, him training with MJordan 🤯

@ZeevFarbman Great article, Zeev, and thanks for making LTX the leading open source model!

De una imagen generada con Nano Banana 2 a un mundo 3D completamente explorable donde te puedes integrar
@openart_ai es una salvajada 👇

TechHalla@techhalla
This is huge for AI filmmaking. you can create a 3D navigable world from any image with OpenArt Worlds, take shots and integrate characters! Here's how 👇

@TomLikesRobots Yeah, for me it's totally fine if his family agrees (like this case).
Actually I love Val Kilmer so much since Top Secret (best film ever)

English

@techhalla It's a tough one, but he was happy for it to happen, and his family is happy (no doubt they will be paid for this).
I don't see anything wrong here.
Hollywood has been doing something similar for a while - look at Oliver Reed in Gladiator.
English

@briskblackmamba 100%, also I'd love to watch interviews on legends. Like interviewing Wilt Chamberlain
English

@techhalla Soon we will see all actors resurrected and mixed up storytelling.
