imagine the vegas scene and everything stays the same except shane’s the one fully in control and he’s sitting there on the bed showing ilya how he already has two fingers inside himself and opening himself up slow and pumping in and out and he's absolutely wrecked and leaking and ilya is losing his mind trying not to snap but he breaks and climbs onto the bed but shane just presses his foot against ilya’s chest and stops him and makes him stay there and watch and makes him beg and ilya does and he’s practically breathless begging to suck him off begging to fuck him and shane’s just looking at him like he’s pathetic for it and teasing him about how this is the same man who won the cup the same man everybody worships and now he’s falling apart over him and then shane tells him if he wants to suck something that badly he can start with his toes and ilya does it immediately no hesitation and that’s the craziest part bc that shane realizes he has that much power over him and it sends this shiver straight down his spine hearing ilya whining around him while already shoving his own pants down and jerking himself off like he can’t even think straight anymore and he’s such a mess he's flushed and leaking everywhere and crying while trying to apologize between desperate little pleases and shane just keeps rubbing it in telling him how pathetic he looks wanting him this badly after six months of silence watching ilya completely unravel beneath him until he’s literally sobbing out "i’m sorry, i’m sorry, please please let me fuck u" still sounding desperate and wrecked and then shane finally leans back a little and spreads his legs just enough and goes "do u want to know what it feels like?" and ilya’s nodding so fast he can barely breathe and shane just smiles and says "then come here"

i don’t think dean loving cowboys is endearing actually ! i think it’s evidence of his larger role within the structure of hunting & the way he views violence and that the history of cowboys is inextricable from dean’s idealization of them !

@hopezheart Rachel uses his bisexuality to create solidarity to ilya. His background is used for ilya. I feel like he doesn't respect ilya's situation because he respects him but he does it because he experienced a similar situation

Shane would never be able to crush a watermelon with his thighs. He’s just not capable. Nothing can convince me. Not even if they add a scene in S2, I’d need BTS footage too, to make sure it wasn’t faked.

Book canon again, but I think the idea that Ilya can't come out to his team because Shane is already out and they'd obviously be dating is ridiculous. We know its true but in a league of 32 teams assuming the only 2 queer players you know are dating is a weird assumption.

@HollanovTears Worst change by FAR. I could maybe see if it was like, a summer of flirting and maybe they didn’t hook up at their first game of the season so you’re going like 7,8 months before they do but 2 full seasons of hockey was a WILD choice

I honestly and truly hate that in the show, Shane and Ilya dont hook up for 2 years. I think its sweet that Ilya waited for Shane to be ready and never lost interest, never stopped letting him know he wanted him without pressuring. BUT TWO YEARS?

and while we’re at it can i say it’s incredibly disappointing how rachel reid was welcomed by the pwhl’s teams with open arms while the nhl (ottawa excluded) only used hr as a fun pride night gimmick yet she still has no interest in writing about queer women in hockey

@sidmeowsby I’m sure what you’re saying has merit and all but for those of us more casual fans it’s a whole other world. From where I’m seated RR has not actively harmed anyone here and this energy of hating on ppl is getting so tiresome. Like, send a book rec or other authors name my way

@thegreenempty the “potential pwhl fans” are getting hit tweets from making the victoire’s historical cup win about fictional men. that’s how male centered and uninterested in real women’s stories this fandom is. not the audience the pwhl should fish for + not the art they should push

@sidmeowsby I get it, it’d be nice to highlight sapphic lit but HR is marketable right now and is genuinely bringing new fans to hockey, esp the pwhl. Like, go ahead and toss out the authors you want to support, ask your team to promote them, etc but it doesn’t have to be a zero sum thing

@thegreenempty i’d be happy to have the pwhl celebrate rr if they also gave that same attention and promo to women writing about women instead of only her. there’s not one specific author i’d like instead, but i have a list of authors who’d deserve it and i’m sure many names are missing from it

@sidmeowsby Seems like an odd take, like I’m a big hr fan and I’m also a pwhl season ticket holder, it doesn’t really seem like it’s gotta be one or the other. Is there a specific author you feel is getting overlooked? Or is this just a vibes thing?

@thegreenempty then she can stay home while an author who puts women in their hockey literature goes to these events instead of making us watch the pwhl push art in which the hockey has no female main character. but no rr loves only acknowledging women in hockey when they praise her
