Some nice chapters in here. One interesting idea, forget which chapter, is that in some other sciences, like bio, progress has been enabled by having model organisms, which soc doesn't have.

It only occurred to me today how much mentorship lineages in anthropology, & all its attendant problems, are issues of disciplinary reproduction. If more anthro programs were looking beyond disciplinary reproduction, a different horizon might open into view. #anthrotwitter
