Agreed. But nor should you deserve a vote because you’ve been a second/third-rate cabinet minister but greased up enough to a prime minister for him/her to send you to an unelected parliamentary chamber to do their bidding and live out your twilight years in comfort and status, lording it over the rest of us who had no say in your choice. No more democratic than hereditary.

@SGNgas this is the awful diversion from A267 in East Sussex and the use of narrow country lanes that are now being destroyed by HGVs and creating real danger for all users.

@esccroads so how would you guys assess the danger and chaos caused by the thoughtless diversion from A267 to Lake St/ Little Trodgers Lane. Or the utter destruction of the roads and borders caused by HGVs using it. Come on - send real people to observe before a fatality

Thanks @Se_Railway - Pity that train is currently 10 minutes late. FYI - you can’t see which stations it will stop at on the main screens. You have to be on the platform so without your tweet I wouldn’t have known. Not your railway’s finest day

@topcatwm Hi Peter, the train was revised to call at Stonegate to accommodate for passengers on the earlier cancelled train. This should be visible on station screens and our journey planner ^MA

I know that but I am at LBG now as that’s where your team sent me. Why can’t the 13:24 from LBG stop at the stations not served by the cancelled train? Might help your passengers. No need to mention delay repay - I am a regular from the misery line - Hastings

But you can redirect your diversion signs and maybe pause the non emergency work. Or do you agree that cutting off a primary school and a commuter station is not your concern?

At a time when Labour should be standing back and leaving Reform and Tories to knock lumps out of each other Labour ministers brief journos that Starmer should sack Streeting for disloyalty. They give the Gang who couldn’t Shoot Straight a bad name. The standard of poltico on both sides of the House is at an historic low but Labour backbenchers are thicker than the year Jack Thick McThick won the Thick Man of the year competition. Otherwise why wouldn’t you just let Reform and the Tories stew in their own juice.
