Just a reminder: Two of the best animated films of this decade, The Mitchells vs. the Machines and Nimona, both include LGBTQ representation done naturally and effectively, with Katie Mitchell from The Mitchells being canonically queer and Nimona centering a same-sex relationship between Ballister and Ambrosius, and both films were critically acclaimed, widely loved by critics and audiences, and received major awards recognition because they’re genuinely strong, creative, and emotionally resonant stories. Undoubtedly better storytelling than these two Mario movies
