UNDP in Kyrgyzstan

🌿In 2026, the Ministry of Natural Resources, #MNRETS, with the support of @UNDP, launched the preparation of a consolidated document: the Second Biennial Transparency Report and the Fifth National Communication #BTR2/NC5.

On May 21-23, Gov representatives, international organizations, tourism professionals, civil society organizations, and local communities gathered in Min-Kush for the Touristic Forum “Development of Min-Kush Village through Sustainable Tourism – Revival of Forgotten Cities.”

As part of the festival, UNDP supported the handicrafts exhibition under the regional project #AidForTrade funded by @Ulkoministerio

Today, the VII International Tourism Festival “Salam, Osh!” officially opened at the picturesque Besh-Mergen resort in Kara-Suu district, bringing together government reps, the tourism sector, entrepreneurs, and guests from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan!

4th meeting of the Strategic Coordination Committee of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023–2027 UNDP played a central role in Kyrgyzstan becoming the first country in Central Asia to submit an updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0)

UNDP team met with Deputy Mayor of Osh City, Masuda Aidarbekova to discuss the results of cooperation between UNDP and the Osh Mayor’s Office, as well as future areas of partnership in sustainable urban development, entrepreneurship, youth policy, and climate resilience.

May 15-17 May, @UNDP organized a three-day study tour for 11 small businesses from Osh and Jalal-Abad regions, under a grant agreement with the FSDS Foundation and aimed at expanding access for women artisans and adventure tourism businesses to new markets and partnerships.

The UNDP team visited Orozbekov Ayil Okmotu to discuss cooperation on disaster risk reduction. As part of the partnership between UNDP and the Ayil Okmotu, an excavator was procured through a 50/50 co-financing arrangement supported by the local budget and UNDP funds.
