@prncofgerma @Abdulrhman10873 @suwubaru @Holtamania Okay, let's talk. What do you have to say? Have you actually done the research and do you have solid arguments, or are you just repeating what you see on the internet? Because I don't argue with ignorant people.

@Voiles1910 @Idiot_Sink @Lyltl445501 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania We are not Spanish. The original inhabitants of our territory were Indigenous peoples (and Indigenous communities still exist in Argentina); due to colonization and European immigration, we became a mixed population, and many people have European blood. +

@Voiles1910 @Lyltl445501 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania Does that mean I justify or defend what happened? Of course not—but people are talking about the history of a country they don't know, and they are spreading misinformation.

@Voiles1910 @Lyltl445501 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania It isn't, because the definition of genocide includes a fundamental element: intent. If there was no intent, it doesn't qualify. I’m not the one saying this; the definition of genocide is.

@Voiles1910 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania And in fact, all the countries we are talking about were colonized. The United States was colonized by Great Britain, Canada was colonized by Great Britain and France, Australia was colonized by Great Britain, and Argentina was colonized by Spain.

@Voiles1910 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania First, Argentina was one of the first countries to abolish slavery. Furthermore, we did not traffic millions of enslaved people the way other countries did, and we never had racial segregation laws. Do you know what the result of that was? We mixed. That is what we are: mestizos

@Voiles1910 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania We are not a white country, and saying so renders Black Argentines invisible—which is a form of racism. It is true that we do not have as many Black people as other countries, but the reasons for this are not racist, and I will explain them to you.

@luk1281 @Pelinore18 @Lyltl445501 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania I’m not the one saying this; the definition of genocide is. Does that mean it was right, or that I’m defending or justifying it? No, of course not. But call things by their proper names, and don't talk about a country's history if you don't know it.

@luk1281 @Pelinore18 @Lyltl445501 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania It says so right there: it wasn't colonization, it was TERRITORIAL EXPANSION (which is basically what every country did to shape its territory). Nor was it genocide, because a key element of genocide is the intent to destroy a group of people, either wholly or in part.

@AduyeDavid55834 @apaolazia @Holtamania And regarding skin color: many of our players have Indigenous ancestry because Indigenous people were the native inhabitants of our territory, not Black people. Others have European blood due to immigration, and others are a mix—what we call *mestizos*. That is diversity.

@AduyeDavid55834 @apaolazia @Holtamania 1. Being Black doesn't mean they can't be racist. 2. The players are being accused of racism over a chant that wasn't intended that way; it was a criticism of European teams, not an attack on Africans.

@user220388 @Jesanhall23 @suwubaru @Holtamania but regardless, what's Argentina national team is doing in wc is disgusting and most people agree around the world, and of course Argentinians defending it will cause the hate to grow, the team did more harm than good for the country in my opinion

@Joseph1165752 @GeeJayJon @Holtamania There are no Nazis in Argentina. Do you know where the descendants of Nazis actually are? In Germany and its neighboring European countries—go accuse them.

@Pelinore18 @user220388 @Lyltl445501 @ajoajoajoaj @Holtamania The intention of colonisation is never to exterminate indigenous people too, like, it’d don’t not done with the goal of killing for the sake of it, it’s done with the goal of getting land/resources, the genocide is just the means to that end😭

@Abdulrhman10873 @Jesanhall23 @suwubaru @Holtamania You know what happens? The world wants to push the idea that we’re bad and racist, and that’s all they show, but not all Argentines are like that. In fact, there are a lot of good, kind people.

@Abdulrhman10873 @Jesanhall23 @suwubaru @Holtamania There are good people and bad people all over the world; the problem arises when people focus only on the bad ones to accuse the entire country of being just like them.

@user220388 @Jesanhall23 @suwubaru @Holtamania we are not talking about the country, we are talking about the people. if what we see in stadiums, social media apps, and basically everywhere we had contact with them is racist, what else should be a proof?
