When it's time to wrap everything up, the female cast is set aside, used purely to drive the despair of the main character. The EOE is much more deeply misogynistic, and threatens but fails to explore that deeply. CSM isn't as misogynistic, yet it doesn't explore it at all.

Perfect blue, EOE, Ep 25&26 of eva, all of these are things i absolutely love. With that being said, I also think this ending is the weakest amongst them all, and my major critique of this ending is the same as my major critique for the EOE.

everyone be talking about how #csm232 feels like episode 26 of evangelion... i partially disagree. it feels a lot more like EoE to me, specifically when it comes to the handling of "side" characters, and that's a critique of both.🧵
