Italian PM Meloni to Trump: So, certain things deserve an immediate response. Donald Trump's statements are completely fabricated. I am frankly appalled. I don't know why the President of the United States behaves this way towards his allies; after all, it's not the first time it's happened. I can only say it's a pity that he doesn't show the same determination with the enemies of the West, with the enemies of the United States, with leaders towards whom he instead proves to be much more accommodating. But he must remember one thing: Italy and I never beg.

@themetav3rse How governments operate is not some sort of revelation. Musk basically didn't have the endurance needed.

Elon Musk found out how corrupt the government was in 2025 and his response was shocking. "They say you're killing baby pandas. Meanwhile, no baby pandas are dying. They're just making it up." "If you cut off payments to fraudsters, they immediately come up with the most sympathetic sounding reasons to continue the payment. They don't say, please keep the fraud going." "The forces are capable of coming up with extremely heart-wrenching stories that are false but sound sympathetic." "It's extremely difficult even to cut very obvious waste and fraud from the government, because the government has to operate on who's complaining." "Perhaps I should have known better." PS. British politicians, on account of being completely ignorant of the world, are very bad at governance. I remember very well when Gordon Brown, in his first month as PM, promised broadband and cell phone internet for the whole country. More than 20 years later and you can't even get a reliable 4g signal in central London, and the countryside is even worse! Rumour has it that politicians don't run the country anyway, so that just leaves the anonymous toffs in Whitehall as the perpetrators of national mismanagement.

Several problems with this idea from Wes. First is time. It takes over 10 years to drill and produce from an entirely new field (standalone). If drilling close to existing fields (tie in) you might do it in five years. Part of the reason is the need to fabricate the massive structures required - you can’t pop down to B&Q. So five to ten years before this new oil and gas might flow. Won’t help us anytime soon - assuming we get any tax at all. The often mentioned Rosebank field (Standalone) needs a £3 billion tax subsidy to get it going - unlikely ever to pay tax. Bear in mind the North Sea is 93% depleted (North Sea Transition Authority figures) - so any new activity will be pretty short lived, as well as minor. What’s the fuss really all about, economics or politics? independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

#WATCH | Delhi: On India's role in the Israeli–Palestinian peace, Palestinian Ambassador to India Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh says, "... When we talk about India and the bilateral relations with Israel and Palestine, India has a strong relationship with both sides... I trust that India will play a crucial role in the upcoming or on the day after the war." Further, on a message to PM Modi, he says, "I already delivered the message, abiding by what he already announced regarding the medical project that India will provide to the developing country... I raised my voice with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and I'm sure that my appeal has reached a high level in India."

Only the most boring normies think about James Bond in 2026. Nothing screams poor taste in films as much as being a James Bond fan, maybe Marvel movies, but at least those still capture the Zeitgeist. Bond is high fantasy, akin to the LOTR. A WW2 hangover, where the British suffered huge troop losses, and many many military defeats, but they excelled at espionage during the war, and even though nothing they did had a material impact on the course of the war, they haven't been able to stop singing drunk victory songs around the fire of the daring exploits of their ancestors for the last 70 years! Mainstream filmmaking has strong parallels with the mainstream media. I was pretty shocked that Denis Villeneuve chose to follow his stellar Dune films with Bond. The cinematic world is great for enduring fantasy. I recently watched the Western adaptation of 3 Body Problem, and couldn't stop laughing when the script positioned British soldiers as integral to fighting hostile aliens! The British don't even have a space program!! Jokes.

Ian Fleming didn’t like Sean Connery as James Bond because he was “too muscular.” He dismissed Connery as an “overgrown stuntman” and an “unrefined” roughneck, too working-class to portray the suave, aristocratic, and slim British spy he had envisioned.

@ayushphy He's correct. In an Indian undergraduate program it's not uncommon for professors to tell students to get lost for asking questions.

Indian PhD students are technically brilliant. But Raghu Mahajan says most get pigeonholed — read the 3 papers needed for the calculation, do the project, move on. Every topic in theoretical physics has 30 important papers. You should want to read all 30. Not because your supervisor said so. Because you can't help yourself. "Greed ki bhai mujhe yeh jaanna hai." That hunger, he says, is what Indian research culture is systematically failing to produce.

Sums up the Western mentality. Kill and murder as long as you can get away with it. Oh no! Hybrid warfare means we aren't untouchable anymore! The ethos of White Supremacism rests on this foundation. This is why the US surreptitiously gave Israel a nuclear weapon via it's European vassals, it is why the racist White Supremacist IAEA has never even attempted to investigate Israel's nuclear status, instead the core distinction is skin-colour.

My grandfather was conscripted by Nazis and he survived Stalingrad. We spoke about the War and the conditions that lead to the War often when I was growing up. Later I began to work in the United States, after about 7 years, I began to see parallels between the US and the legends of Nazi Germany that I had grown up with. If Gvir is a Nazi - and he is - (in fact Nazi is at once a sufficient and insufficient label) - then so is Vance. Fanatic devotion to a violent State apparatus, the fucking flag, everywhere you go in the US its support our troops and do the half-assed Nazi salute. Technically the VP is supposed to have no power whatsoever, but that seems naive in 2026. Vance is absolutely in the Venn diagram area that says Nazi - just like Gvir. Although Gvir is a braver Nazi than Vance. Gvir doesn't lie or try to hide his Nazism. They are both worthy of the term Nazi.
