Imagine if you went to a MD for tests & didn’t get the lab results until 6 mo’s later. In addition, imagine the results said that you had high cholesterol, but didn’t say what type. It would be considered medical malpractice! That’s MCAS. #lesstestingmorelearning

MCAS is outmoded, a relic from bygone era. It is from a long tradition of assessments that assume there is one way to measure academic achievement & one way to teach kids. It has never provided helpful data on how to close achievement gaps, & never will. #lesstestingmorelearning

@MASchoolsK12 has hyped MCAS as the answer for MA education problems. They told us it could help close the ach gap. It didn’t. Now, they’re saying it can ‘diagnose learning loss’ during COVID. Baloney! Commissioner Riley, don’t sell MCAS as a cure-all. #lesstestingmorelearning
