🇩🇪🇮🇱 BREAKING: Germany withdraws legal support for Israel at the ICJ genocide case. The tide is turning. Europe's biggest power just stepped back. For months, Germany defended Israel. Armed Israel. Funded Israel. Now? Silence. The ICJ case moves forward. South Africa leads. Netherlands and Iceland join. Germany exits. The world is watching. The alliance is cracking. The genocide case is gaining weight. Germany's withdrawal is not a condemnation. It's a calculation. The evidence is too strong. The pressure is too high. They're not joining the case for Palestine. But they're no longer defending the indefensible. That's progress. That's pressure. That's the beginning of accountability. First Germany. Who's next?

Rather a small gesture not to couple this with joining the ICJ case against Israel. However, to some EU politicians maybe this means something, though to me it seems far too little, far too late.

@Its_ereko You are spreading disinformation. Maybe you use a better translate app. Germany is accused and wants first for all to focus on the process towards Germany from the IGH.

@Its_ereko But we all know that secretly Germany likes a bit of genocide. They have a taste for it.

@Its_ereko No more blind loyalty; mounting evidence and global pressure are forcing even Berlin to calculate the cost of complicity. The apartheid regime's isolation grows. Accountability is coming, and it's unstoppable.

@Its_ereko Massive, consequential action that weakens the standing of the Holocaust business. @EMichaelJones1 Israel’s guilt for acts of genocide is “no longer defensible”. That means their status as victims of genocide, AKA our foundational cultural myth, is formally unraveling.

@Its_ereko My understanding was that the ICJ case was against Netanyahu & ex IDF chief Galant, so now that Netanyahu is dead, does it even matter? A conviction won't change Israel's atrocious behaviour, or tell us anything we didn't already know.

@Its_ereko It’s a shame they chose to stand with Israel in the first place! This is political expediency. Not a change of heart…

@Its_ereko It is more likely that there is not and has never been a "genocide". Hamas' own figures say that the deaths amount to about 70,000. The population of Gaza is about 2 million. That means the death toll is about 3.5%. That is not a "genocide" by any stretch of the imagination.

@Its_ereko Germany stated that it is a strategic legal move to avoid contradictions in their own legal defense. They are currently facing a separate case at the ICJ filed by Nicaragua, which accuses Berlin of facilitating genocide through its military and political support for Israel.

@Its_ereko South Africa taught Israel everything it knows about apartheid. That's why they're fighting so hard. The two nations were so close they famously tested a nuclear weapon together.
