AdaShape is a "mesh" based tool as that is appropriate for 3D printing. The model itself is parametric - meaning the mesh is a discretized from parametric shapes on the fly. Here are "Preview", "Medium" and "Ultra" precisions.
Full model tree editing in the next public alpha 🚀
Technically we're now "parametric CAD" but we'd rather be known as the relaxing modeler for shapes that are fun to build and print.
Grab a part, move, cut, undo. No regrets. ☺️
AdaShape alpha 0.1.6 is out - and this one's a fun one.
The Shape Editor is here. Draw any outline you like and AdaShape turns it into a real 3D object. Resize it, combine it with other shapes, send it to your printer. Full walkthrough in the video.
@AdaShapeModeler@jessfraz@mweinbach@adamdotnew This was great! Just what I was looking for mix of blender but for CAD. You should publicize and hire some people to work on marketing and branding really. Ty anyways
@jessfraz@mweinbach@adamdotnew Okay I read up on BREP , makes sense given there are YC startups for 2D SVG that can be scaled to 3D for industry specific like military modifications. But do consider import - modify - export pipelines where the most use cases will be spanning formats and domain specific
Demonstrating robust dynamic updates. Testing "dynamic buffer distance", edge treatments and boolean cut. Note all you need to do is drag those handles.
