THE JOB MARKET IS SATURATED, FOLLOW THIS 10 RULES THINGS IF YOU WANT YOUR CV TO STAND OUT RULE 10 is the most underrated 1, DO NOT SAVE YOUR RESUME AS RESUME(1).pdf Instead, save it as firstname_lastname_jobtitle. It stands out to recruiters and also helps rank you with the ATS systems! 2, ALWAYS EXPORT AS PDF (unless the job posting says Word). PDFs keep your formatting perfect on every device and screen. Word files can break when opened in different versions, instant rejection vibe. 3, TAILOR YOUR RESUME FOR EVERY SINGLE APPLICATION. Copy and paste the exact keywords and phrases from the job description into your bullet points. ATS scans for matches, miss them and your resume goes straight to the trash folder. 4, KEEP IT TO ONE PAGE (if you have <10 years experience). Recruiters spend an average of 7 seconds on the first scan. Two pages = they stop at page 1. Make every line count. 5, DITCH THE FANCY TEMPLATES, COLUMNS, AND GRAPHICS. ATS hates tables, text boxes, icons, and weird fonts. Use a clean, one-column layout with standard fonts (Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman 10-12 pt). Simple wins. 6, START EVERY BULLET WITH A STRONG ACTION VERB. “Led,” “Optimized,” “Generated,” “Increased,” “Launched.” Never start with “Responsible for,” “Helped,” or “Assisted.” Action verbs make you sound like a boss, not a bystander. 7, QUANTIFY EVERY ACHIEVEMENT WITH NUMBERS. “ Increased sales by 47%” beats “Helped increase sales” every single time. No numbers? Use percentages, dollar amounts, or time saved. Recruiters love proof. 8, PUT YOUR CONTACT INFO AT THE VERY TOP (and make it clickable). Name (huge), phone, professional email, LinkedIn URL, location (city + state only, no full address). Make your LinkedIn URL custom (linkedin.com/in/firstname-l…) so it looks pro. 9, ADD A 3-LINE PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY AT THE TOP. Tell them in 2 seconds who you are, what you do, and what you deliver. No objective statements from 2005 recruiters hate those. 10, PROOFREAD LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT (because it does). Run it through Grammarly or any AI + read it out loud. One typo can set you back. Bonus 11: Update your resume every 3-4 months even if you’re not job hunting. Save this list. Your future self (and your inbox full of interview requests) will thank you. Also suggest 5 companies hiring right now in Nigeria.” 4. Ace interviews → Paste the JD and say: “Role-play as the hiring manager. Ask me 8 tough questions + give me model answers with STAR method.” 5. Follow up & network → Ask: “Write a professional cold DM to a recruiter at [company] about this role.” Pro tip: Always start your prompt with “Act as a senior recruiter with 10+ years experience in Nigeria.” Copy and paste these prompts daily and watch your inbox explode Are you trying this today? Look at who's already moving: Accenture - training 30,000 people on Claude Cognizant - rolled it out to 350,000 employees Deloitte - opened Claude access to 470,000 people Infosys - anchor partner These aren't startups experimenting. These are billion dollar consulting firms restructuring their entire workforce around Claude. And the certification they need? You can take it right now from your bedroom. Let me be real though.
