@BHNmath These “someones” are the folks who wave the science of learning flag to justify forcing one “efficient” method on everyone, claiming it reduces cognitive load. In reality, it often just reduces thinking.

Forcing every kid to solve math problems the same way is not “rigor.” It’s ableism dressed up as tradition.

If you are looking to get a good math text on proofs, here is my recommended list. I'm sure there are others but these I'm very familiar with and highly recommend them.
