Recently acquired for @britishlibrary Sound Archive, a cardboard disc of the Prince of Wales (1894-1972) appealing on behalf of the British Legion.

Just acquired for @britishlibrary Sound Archive, a rare cardboard disc recording of the Duke of Kent (1902-1942) who was killed in an air crash at the age of 40. Speaking on Papworth and the village settlement with Lady Linlithgow.

Johannes Heidenreich, repetiteur at Staatsoper Berlin and lecturer at Hochschule fur Musik in the 1920s. 1932 lost his teaching post and wrote musical reports for Goebbels. When it was discovered that his Aryan certificate was forged, he commited suicide. Rare 1924 recording.

Two of four unissued alternate takes @britishlibrary Sound Archive from Nicolas Medtner's 1946 recording of Beethoven's Appassionata Sonata. Take 4 of this matrix was published.

Just acquired for @britishlibrary Sound Archive - a rare wartime recording made in Zurich by Paul Baumgartner (1903-1976).

Delighted to acquire this rare disc by Busoni pupil Edward Weiss (1892-1984). Around 50 years later he participated in a Busoni Symposium at the National Sound Archive, the forerunner of the @britishlibrary Sound Archive.

A recent acquisition. The premiere performance of Alan Rawsthorne's Violin Concerto (later to become No. 1) at the Cheltenham Festival in 1948 with Theo Olof, Halle Orchestra and John Barbirolli.

Delighted to write the booklet note for Jorge Bolet's complete @deccaclassics recordings which include a selection of previously unpublished Chopin Nocturnes.

On 9th November Cortot pupil Thierry de Brunhoff will be 90. His EMI recordings were re-issued on CD in 2004. Now a Benedictine monk, Brother Thierry Jean has been at En-Calcat Abbey since 1974. Bon anniversaire!

Violinist Maurice Rubinstein won the 1906 Klindworth-Scharwenka competition and made this disc in Berlin, apparently his only recording. Delighted to acquire this rare disc for the @britishlibrary Sound Archive.

Denise Molié (1903-1995) recorded four sides of Debussy for French HMV on 11th June 1928. Pleased to acquire two of them for @britishlibrary Sound Archive.
