I hope this is as close as Wemby gets to the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy after what I saw from him and the Spurs in the playoffs. The league was trying to force this guy on us. There was clearly frustration throughout the playoffs but he is incredibly mature for his age. You should listen to him speak for more than 30 seconds, especially given English is not his first language. He wants to be great and is not going to pander to the national media. He is who he is and you either like him or you don’t.

🤣 come on! They led for most the series but fell short. Better team won. Nothing wrong with that he is saying. English is the 2nd language and it’s factually correct they were leading every game. He will be humbled given the fact he lost and now has to improve if he wants to win.

@Tjonesonthenba Or they just ran out of steam and the inexperience and shitty coaching proved to not be enough against a veteran team they struggled with throughout the season. Like anything in life, you have to exude confidence to be successful. Some do it differently than others.

I think the difference is they weren’t nearly as flippant publicly during the Oklahoma City series I think they exuded confidence in themselves against the Thunder. I think they publicly treated the Knicks with dismissiveness and condescension

Todd, where’s the respect man? Spurs fans acknowledge how great the Knicks were. Brunson is a class act. Well deserved. Why punch low at a 22 year old kid trying to make his city and home country proud? We can give credit to the Knicks, confirm how great this run was for the city, and admit Wemby is a solid player who should be a fixture in the league going forward.

I love how the entire world finally got a front-row seat to see Wemby for what he is: arrogant, cocky, dirty, and nowhere near as untouchable as people made him out to be. Had a generational whistle all series and still choked.

The current arena was constructed to try and gentrify the area. For a team of the Spurs caliber, it is no longer sufficient, and incredibly distant to where I would venture to say most season ticket holders live. I don’t love local fans getting priced, but I think that was more a product of the opponent they played vs anything else.

I’m still so shocked at how bad the Spurs team, coaching staff, and organization looked in the finals. Literally no one was ready for it lol Fans sold tickets, the town wasn’t ready, the players weren’t ready, and the coaches weren’t ready. Really really bad look, everyone.
