I’m not relying on AI. AI, is just putting it into a more coherent form. I’m relying on several different sources that are 2A lawyers and their conclusions. I’m not writing a dissertation. I’m simply relying on those who have the credentials and are more learned than I. Time to move on.

@CSTE_Engineer @Tactical_review So you are going to ignore official documentation from the US military and Colt, and US military museums. And instead rely on AI? You can remain uneducated on the topic if you want. I have showed you indisputable proof of what I've said.

@gsd7373 @Tactical_review At this point I’ll stand by the professionals who went to law school, passed the Bar, became lawyers that specialize in 2A law and argue these cases in a court of law. These are their conclusions and not mine. No hard feelings and thanks for the debate.

@CSTE_Engineer @Tactical_review That is a whole lot of typing to still be wrong. The AR-15 was designed specifically for the US military as a select fire rifle. The military adopted the AR-15 and gave it the military designation of M16. The M16 is a Colt AR-15 model 604. The M4 is a Colt AR-15 model 920. Cont.

Are the M4 and the M16 both AR-15s? Answer: They’re not technically “AR-15s,” but they are all part of the same family. Here’s the clean way to think about it: The core idea •AR-15 = original rifle design (from ArmaLite), now commonly used to refer to civilian semi-auto versions •M16 & M4 = military rifles derived from that same AR-15 design Relationship •The M16 is basically the military’s version of the early AR-15 •The M4 is a shorter, more modern evolution of the M16 Why they aren’t called AR-15s •In military naming: •“M16” and “M4” are official U.S. service designations •In civilian use: •“AR-15” usually means a semi-automatic-only rifle The key distinction •Same platform / same DNA •Different configurations and roles: •AR-15 → civilian, semi-auto •M16/M4 → military, select-fire, standardized models Bottom line 👉 The M4 and M16 are AR-15–based rifles, but they are not what people usually mean when they say “AR-15.”

@CSTE_Engineer @Tactical_review The US military has been using AR-15s in war every since vietnam. The M4 and the M16 are both AR-15s. Research that.

Has the US military has been using AR-15s in war ever since Vietnam? These are not my opinions. They are from a multitude of sources. No — not in the way most people mean it. The U.S. military has not been using civilian AR-15s in war since Vietnam. What they’ve used instead are military versions of the same design, mainly: •M16 (Vietnam → 2000s) •M4/M4A1 (1990s → today) What actually happened •The original AR-15 design was adapted into the M16, which became the standard U.S. military rifle in Vietnam. •After Vietnam, the military continued using updated M16 variants (A1, A2, A4) for decades. •Starting in the 1990s–2000s, the M4 carbine largely replaced the M16 for front-line troops and has been widely used in Iraq and Afghanistan. Why people get confused •The AR-15, M16, and M4 all share the same basic platform/design. •But: •AR-15 (civilian) → semi-auto only •M16/M4 (military) → select-fire (burst/full-auto) Bottom line •The U.S. military has continuously used AR-15–derived rifles since Vietnam •But not civilian AR-15s themselves — they use military versions (M16/M4) built for combat

Did the ar-15 601 and 602 see action throughout Vietnam? Answer from multiple sources and AI: Not really — they did see combat in Vietnam, but not throughout the entire war and not as the primary standard rifle. AR-15 Model 601 •Used in the very early phase of U.S. involvement (early 1960s). •Issued in limited numbers to: •U.S. Air Force •Military advisors •Some special operations units •Saw early combat use, but was quickly phased out as improved versions came along. AR-15 Model 602 •A slightly improved follow-up to the 601. •Saw more widespread early Vietnam use than the 601. •Still mostly present in the pre-1965 / early escalation period. What replaced them •As U.S. involvement ramped up (mid-1960s onward), the military standardized on: •M16 (initially) •Then M16A1, which became the dominant rifle for most of the war Why they didn’t last •The 601/602 were essentially transitional rifles during testing and early adoption. •The Army pushed for changes (like the forward assist), leading to newer standardized models. Bottom line •Yes, both the 601 and 602 saw real combat in Vietnam •No, they were not used throughout the war — they were mostly limited to the early years before the M16A1 took over as the main service rifle.

Let’s open an old wound. Unlike a lot of people on X, I want to make sure that I’m disseminating up to date and accurate information. The documents shown were dated back in the 50’s and 60’s. Current information and what is being referred to is not the same. A practicing 2A lawyer and historian, who does this for a living sums it up perfectly. Please watch and see if the “proof” that people are presenting is accurate. Watch the whole thing. youtu.be/71xRpD2tijE?si… let’s discuss.
