The Easter vigil live stream caught me absolutely grinning at “The strife is o’er, the battle won!” on the way out lol Hits different when you’ve just made it through 3 hrs of liturgy including 2 baptisms. Thanks be to God!

@nic_lucc Also, and maybe this is an American bubble experience, but extensive use of the diy books—to the extent that I *need* to look at the leaflet to make the majority of the responses—remains rare enough compared to Rite II 79-ism (with maybe a couple of widespread tweaks).

@nic_lucc I see what you mean, but not sure I buy alikeness of nondenom services as “common prayer”—uniformity of the words themselves isn’t the point in that context, but is a big “common prayer” argument against diy-ism in Anglicanism. Caveat I’m no authority on anything nondenom lol

My hot take of the day is that since the proliferation of "build your own liturgy "-books in historic denominations, and the non-denom-ing of Evangelicalism, Evangelicals now adhere better to the principal of common prayer. Their services are more universally alike across denoms.
