Have you noticed the rise in Cost of Living? Philadelphia's current position near the top of the inflation rankings is a break from where it sat for most of the post-pandemic period. citydiscuss.com/articles/phila…

@mjesuele yep. It's still a good deal compared to some other places, but the long-term trend line shows the gap narrowing

@CityDiscuss Philly is currently still somewhat of an arb for urban living in the US but that’s not going to last much longer.

Exciting World Cup match. Paraguay is a small country, smaller than the Philly CSA population-wise. I’m excited for them, but cannot help but feel a tinge of disappointment for the city, businesses, and hospitality industry.

For 10 years, a bi-partisan commission planned America 250 to happen in Philadelphia at Independence Hall. The National Park Service redid many of the buildings. All 50 states have contributed to the time capsule. The pope will give a virtual speech. Congress is holding a special session. The World Cup will happen on the night of the fourth. This thing happening in DC was never supposed to be the country’s celebration.

Philly gained a larger portion of central Asian residents than almost every other city in the United States. Additionally, the region continues to be a top landing spot for Liberians.

Lewis Katz once said the city needed this so kids would know who Paul Arizin and Bobby Clarke were. He didn't live to see it. Neither did Ed Snider. But the idea they helped launch becomes real today. After a decade-plus of effort, the first exhibit of the Museum of Sports @MOSPhiladelphia opens today in City Hall @brettmandel citydiscuss.com/articles/phila…

The DC metro lost roughly 100,000 jobs over the past year with no sign of a floor. Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia have largely stalled. New BLS data paints a rough picture for the entire Mid-Atlantic
