This glow has been present in the night sky for a few days. The asteroid is closing in, having passed the moon over an hour ago. There is only 1 and a half hours before it hits. The Asteroid is 108,000km away.

Above the floodplains and woodlands of the Javelina Formation there is an ominous glow. The light of the sun illuminates it, just as it would the moon. With every passing second it grows brighter as it hurtles toward the earth.

The sun has just set on the expansive flood plains of the Javelina Formation, with the remnants of sunlight during these twilight hours still projecting shadows across the land. Illuminated in the darkness three sauropodlets stumble through the plant life.

3hrs before impact, the sun is setting on this part of the world. While Hell Creek is best known for its dinosaurs it also has a wide range of non dinosaur fauna, from snakes, to crocodile mimics and even mammals. The spring afternoon is vibrant but their world is about to end

Its the middle of the day about 6 hrs before the end of the Cretaceous. Dinosaurs are still in their prime with some of the largest animals of their time living their best life.

A warm starey night in Late Cretaceous China, 66 million years ago. Most animals here are resting but they don't know those asteroids are just harbingers of a massive rock that in 9hrs will hit the Yucatán Peninsula

A cool foggy autumn morning in the Lopez de Bertodano formation exactly 66 million years ago. These organisms are going about their day as normal not knowing what is about to happen in roughly 24 hours from now in the Yucatán Peninsula

@ausar_the for me it would have to be definitive (non-reworked) earliest danian non avian dinosaur remains. I'd probably not shut up about it for months. I'd be absolutely ecstatic.

What is a (theoretically possible?) scientific discovery that would make you flip, froth at the mouth in excitement, and force you to temporarily lie down?
