@TeachHoopsBBall Travel basketball and AAU is out of control. 2nd grade travel and AAU? Are you kidding me??? Stay local. Play in-house and maybe some neighboring towns. Way too many games and not enough skill work.

High school basketball participation is dropping, and it's a problem no one wants to address. Fewer players = fewer teams = fewer opportunities for kids to grow. What's keeping them away from the game? Burnout? Pressure? Competing interests? Something has to change.

@TeachHoopsBBall Maybe girls are tired of playing a contact sport that isn't supposed to be a contact sport. Volleyball provides the same amount of athletism, training, commitment and absolute team environment without the physical aggression from opposing teams.

The number of girls playing high school basketball is a crisis no one is talking about. Programs are drying up. Teams can barely fill their rosters. We can't grow this game if we can't get kids to believe it's worth their time. What are programs doing to fix this?

@CoachForGov Close, but a simpler fix is that transfers can’t get NIL money for 1 year.

The transfer portal has screwed up college sports. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer. After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year. This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today.

@prepballstars There shouldn't even be AAU for 3rd - 5th grade. It's a total money rip.

AAU coaches 5th grade and under: I know this won’t be popular to say but I wish you wouldn’t press. It’s bad basketball and not good for developing players. And it’s not realistic at the highest levels. You have 3rd graders pressing the whole game. To win, I guess. It’s awful.

@DoctorTurtleboy Refs are ruining basketball at every level. They need thicker skin and need to ignore players and coaches. Give warnings if somone is crossing or about to cross a line.

This is simple. High school players like Darryn Peterson should be able to go right to NBA. Players who attend NCAA schools & leave for professional sports at any level should be ineligible to return. International players who play at the highest levels in Europe and are over a certain age should be ineligible for the NCAA. Let’s make college basketball what it has always been—semi professional.
