In 1993, the West African Milk Company (WAMCO) said a 1992 government policy meant to support local manufacturers was instead hurting its business and giving imported milk a pricing advantage.
According to Newswatch, the issue traced back to Decree 13 of March 1992, which reduced import duties on evaporated milk from 20% to 5%. But key raw materials needed for local production, milk fat, skimmed milk powder, butter milk powder, and tin plates, were still taxed between 20% and 25%.
The result: it became cheaper to import finished milk products than to produce them locally.
WAMCO, Nigeria’s lone milk manufacturer at the time, said this created a “deluge of importation and unfair competition.” Its products, Peak (evaporated and powdered) and Three Crown (evaporated milk), were now competing with cheaper imports like Coast, Nido, Dano, and Carnation, which were gaining popularity due to lower prices. The company also feared that the customer loyalty it had built over the years could begin to weaken under this pressure.
In response to the mounting pressure, WAMCO began adjusting its operations by sourcing fresh milk locally from its farm in Vom, expanded into producing cheese and yoghurt, and modified its production process by replacing imported anhydrous animal fat with vegetable fat in its Three Crown brand, a move that made it less creamy than Peak.

“NAFDAC Alerts On Poisonous Milk” — P.M. News, 2009
“The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has alerted the public about the presence in West Africa, of a consignment of Chinese powdered milk contaminated by melamine, a toxic industrial chemical.”
“NAFDAC said in a statement that the highly poisonous milk, rejected by Gambia, may be heading to other West African countries, including Nigeria.”
“The toxic chemical, illegally added to food products to increase protein levels for laboratory tests, causes reproductive damage, bladder stones, kidney failure and sometimes death, said NAFDAC.”

“EU is not the standard of life.”
Life expectancy:
EU — 81.5 years
Nigeria — 54 years
The average European will live nearly 30 years longer than a Nigerian.
Do we really deserve to die young?
Kingsley Shepards@KosafeJunior
@wearegst Last I checked EU is not the standard of life and EU consume the FFMP indirectly in their diary and confectioneries like cake, bread etc. if the government provides stable power and also farmers can rear the amount of cattles to meet the milk demands of the Nigerian population

Only one Premier League midfielder (Szoboszlai) has played more minutes in all comps than Martin Zubimendi. The Spaniard is exhausted and his performance levels have plummeted. Arteta's refusal to use Christian Norgaard points to a failure of recruitment.

We had presentations in school today, and Nigeria featured in four students' works. The first student analyzed Nigeria's oil economy with Norway's. The second discussed Nigeria's smallholding farmers and Ghana's.
Another focused on Nigeria's electricity access and Kenya’s. Another presented on Nigeria's educational spending and out-of-school children, comparing them with South Africa and Kenya’s, based on SDGs 4.1.
One common thread was that Nigeria can't be ignored; everyone is interested in Nigeria. Nigeria was a bad case example in all. And each time Nigeria is mentioned, everyone will shout Victorrrrrr.
One student asked me: what is it about Nigeria.

It's crazy despite Yamal being so good there are some flaws in his game. He often gets overcrowded because he holds onto the ball for too long. This Roony guy created a perfect goal scoring opportunity for Araujo. There are many instances where he can release the ball a bit quicker. It's easy to scapegoat his teammates since Ferran is already very hated. He's still 18 and developing but he really needs to work on few aspects. Great players always tried to grow. If Barca fans already put Yamal above the club they'll suffer more in future. They must let him evolve.
