"Marxism advances by transforming civil society into the basis of proletarian power." - Gramsci, of the Frankfurt School. That is the thesis behind the project that has been inflicted upon us for almost a century; it is the "Social Marxism" which acolytes dismiss as conspiracy.

George R.R. Martin isn’t worthy to clean Edgar Rice Burrough’s toilet. Burroughs created: Tarzan, John Carter, Pellucidar, Carson of Venus, & many stand alone books & shorter series. He served in the US Cavalry, was a pilot who owned his own plane, and was a war correspondent in his late 60s in World War 2. He was a man’s man and one of the most fun writers i’ve read.

George R.R. Martin explains how his Game of Thrones characters wielding power badly is his answer to Edgar Rice Burroughs: "Ruling is hard. This was maybe my answer to Burroughs, whom, as much as I admire him, I do quibble with. A Princess of Mars had a very medieval philosophy: that if the king was a good man, the oxygen would prosper. We look at real history and it’s not that simple. Burroughs can say that John Carter became king and got yeeted off Mars at the last minute, and he was wise and good. But Burroughs doesn’t ask the question: What was John’s slave girl policy? Did he maintain a standing army? What did he do in times of black pirates from the moon? And what about all these green men? By the end of the war, the gods of Mars are gone but all of the greenskin mf’ers aren’t gone – they’re in the mountains. Did John pursue a bro above hoes policy? Real-life kings had real-life problems to deal with. Just being a good guy was not the answer. You had to make hard, hard decisions. Sometimes what seemed to be a good decision turned around and bit you in the ass; it was the law of unintended consequences. I’ve tried to get at some of these in my books. My people who are trying to rule don’t have an easy time of it. Just having good intentions doesn’t make you a propa Martian king."

Fun fact: The Dignity Act bill FORGIVES STUDENT LOANS for any attorney WHO WORKS FOR ILLEGAL MIGRANTS. • It orders the creation of "not fewer than 3 humanitarian campuses located in high traffic sectors of U.S. Border Patrol." • The centers will provide "legal orientation programming and communication between aliens and outside legal counsel." • Orders the Department of Education to forgive 75% of law school for any attorney who "has completed not less than four years of full-time employment as an attorney providing legal services at a humanitarian campus." Who's going to pay for this? You are. Why are lawmakers even trying to write the details of compensation packages for these hypothetical federal employees? The entire bill feels like poorly written AI slop. ChatGPT invented a braindead scheme to create free attorneys for illegal migrants, and the 39 House cosponsors who put their names on it mindlessly signed off without reading it.

READ. THE. BILL. BEFORE. YOU. OPEN. YOUR. MOUTH. Calling the DIGNITY Act “amnesty” isn’t just wrong. It’s a deliberate distortion and it exposes just how little you know about the bill. This is enforcement first: zero tolerance for criminals, permanent border security, and hard, earned requirements to step forward and face the law, so American workers are protected, not undercut. Amnesty is the chaos you’ve defended, millions in the shadows, no control, no accountability, and a system that stopped working a long time ago. No shortcuts. No giveaways. No blanket forgiveness. That’s law and order. That’s DIGNITY.

Those "grill scrapings" are what happens when ground beef hits 450°F steel and the proteins undergo the Maillard reaction at maximum surface area. A spherical patty sitting on a grill touches maybe 15% of its surface. A smash burger pressed flat against a plancha touches 90%+. That means 6x more beef surface is simultaneously converting amino acids and reducing sugars into hundreds of new flavor compounds. The browning you're looking at is roughly 500 to 1,000 distinct molecules that didn't exist before the meat hit the steel. The crispy lace around the edges is rendered fat that seeped out under pressure, hit the hot steel, and fried the protein strands from the outside in. Those thin edges are essentially beef chips. They shatter when you bite them, which creates a textural contrast against the still-juicy center that a thick pub burger physically cannot produce. The flat geometry also solves a heat transfer problem. A thick patty has a massive temperature gradient from surface to center. You either overcook the outside waiting for the middle, or pull it with a raw center. A smash burger is thin enough that the entire patty reaches optimal temperature within 60 to 90 seconds per side. There's no gradient to manage. George Motz documented over 300 burger restaurants for his book and found that nearly every legendary regional burger in America, from the Midwest butter burger to the Oklahoma onion burger, uses this exact technique. Thin, pressed, maximum contact with a hot flat surface. The ones that look the worst on camera consistently taste the best. The visual mess is the flavor.

This isn’t a burger. This is the stuff you clean off of the grill before you make a burger

I distinctly remember the 2015 "migrant crisis". It was obviously manufactured. We know how this works in the United States, so I can safely assume there were organizations goading these people to come to Europe with promises of wealth transfers.
Roman Helmet Guy@romanhelmetguy

The European Migrant Crisis began in 2001 when the USA began its wars in the Middle East as part of the Global War of Terror. Oh wait. No it fucking didn’t. Migration actually decreased during that period. It began in 2015 when European leaders suddenly welcomed them all in.

The Civil Rights revolution (1963-73) turned the US government from a modern state serving (at least in theory) the national interest to a quasi-feudal plaything for special interests; of course it lacks legitimacy. Very few USians can even remember competent, aligned USG.

As Matt Yglesias rightly says, this is a worrying signal of declining state legitimacy: even the centre-left parties don’t believe they can make the case for the state raising taxes and spending them on public goods

When people are really confused as to why Vatican II happened and why the convents emptied I always advise watching the Australian miniseries The Brides of Christ set around the Council. It's really accurate as to what happened imo. You can find it on YouTube.
Catholic Conclave@cathconclave

TRUE STORY 90,000 nuns immediately left their convents following the adoption of the revolutionary changes of Vatican II; the changes were read out in every convent; everything that made the convents holy places was removed; TODAY, there is nothing but desolation!

Since Trump went kinetic with Venezuela, President Xi has: - Purged the top level leadership of PLA. - Disappeared Gen Youxia, Xi’s close childhood friend and his man in control of the Central Military Commission. - Disappeared, purged all records of and likely executed Yang Wei, the designer of the J20 Dragon 5th Gen fighter.
