Literally every white guy is seen as incompetent in the film except Daniel Day Lewis's character who's raised by and acts like a native. The British officer Duncan is cucked by him and is voluntarily burned alive for him and Cora, whom he previously wanted to marry. The only reason to like this movie is if you saw it as a kid which seems to be the case for you.

It is really crazy how those in the United States hold Europe to higher standards. It's like when liberals ignore black unruliness but expect white people to be orderly. Europe is just expected to be better and utopian, no matter the actual situation on the ground.
