Nov. 28, 1970. An historic moment for the #Leafs, at the Gardens, as rookie Darryl Sittler scored his first #NHL goal (on Don McLeod of the #RedWings). Nice play by Jim McKenny head-manning the puck to Mike Walton, who set up Sittler at 1:41 of the third period. Not a key marker, as it put the Leafs ahead of #Detroit, 7-2 (toward a 9-4 final). The Wings wore their red uniforms for the first time at the Gardens. That 1970-71 season marked the first year of the uniform switch (light at home, dark on the road). It would endure until 2002-03, when the opposite prevailed. Bill Hewitt and Bob Goldham called the match on #CBC. #LeafsForever
