Story Time: Why Kilmarnock (Barassie) In 1887, 14 visionary men gathered at the George Hotel in Kilmarnock, laying the foundation for the club and building 9 holes. Then in 1894 new land was secured at Barassie just 9 miles west, enabling links golf and better access by rail.

Today we held our annual Junior Open. We were delighted to have 87 Juniors play in either our 18 hole or 9 hole events. Congratulations to the prizewinners, but truly the real winner today is golf. All vouchers will be posted to the home clubs tomorrow.
