Moreover, our group calls for designers, design scholars, academics, and institutions to stand up, show support, and actively stand with Palestinians. There cannot be any talk of "decolonization" without turning the urgent question of Palestine into action.

We at Decolonising Design condemn the ongoing violence against Palestinians by the state of Israel and ongoing ethnic cleansing of neighborhoods in Occupied East Jerusalem. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle against settler colonialism.

Palestinians are living under settler colonialism. These are not clashes, not civil war, not a conflict. These terms mask the reality of racist violence on the ground. Language matters: there's an active oppressor and coloniser (Israel) and an oppressed and colonised (Palestine).

The West Bank is responding to the bombardment of Gaza & the violent lynchings & assaults on the Palestinians in 48 with unprecedented coordinated demonstrations. Palestinians from the Jordan River to the Med Sea & in exile are uniting. This is an uprising. #فلسطين_تنتقض
