Tomorrow, Sunday, March 22, Rome will welcome 60,000 runners from all over the world for the Rome Marathon. For the first time, a cardinal met the athletes at the Expo Village in Circus Maximus. Cardinal Archbishop Jean-Paul Vesco of Algiers, where Pope Leo will travel to on April 13, will also celebrate Mass for the athletes at 6:00 PM today at the Basilica of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli. He will then run the marathon alongside the other athletes tomorrow morning.
