Essex Police Witham

We extend our area to support nearby community events & I was invited to the OP Varsity Remembrance Service at RAF / USAAF Rivenhall. A new museum to remember the wartime airfield & the brave men who gave their lives will open next year at the site. We will remember them

We were in #Witham with the Community Beat Surgery so residents could speak with us @WithamHub, foot patrols in town, investigated 2 shoplifting incidents, reassurance patrols on the RiverWalk & gave advice to children around Walnut Drive concerning their recent construction.

We began with foot patrol in town & engagement at our Community Beat Surgery at the Witham Hub. Mobile patrols meant more chances to show the lights and sirens to excited children on Haygreen Road. Speed checks on Spa Road led to 17 warnings and 2 drivers reported for speeding.

This week has seen an increased presence in the town centre in the evenings to prevent anti-social behaviour around the library. I carried out mobile patrols visiting the Whetmead Nature Reserve and investigated damage at the derelict flats at Dorothy Sayers Drive. #YouSaidWeDid

Visibile patrols in #Witham, included collecting evidence for a recent shoplifting investigation. I was available for residents to talk with me at the Newlands Precinct & helped an elderly couple with a fraud. Emergency incident where my local knowledge assisted the team.

Great engagment shift this weekend with foot patrols throughout the town and running the Community Beat Surgery. I received information about suspicious vehicles, provided on the spot advice and I was able to coordinate with my collegues to seize a vehicle. #YouSaidWeDId

Witham CSC Officer Penrose is making an impact on road safety around town with targeted speed checks, insurance checks, drivers using their mobile phones & damaged or faulty lights on vehicles. The actions support Vision Zero & #Fatal4 to prevent & reduce deaths on our roads.

A busy day! Traffic control for burst water main on Rickstones Road, followed by foot patrol in town. Visited stores to provide advice on shoplifting suspects. On my beat I dealt with an assault, took intel reports & attended a medical emergency at nearby restaurant. #MyOtherLife

Many braved the cold today & I had a very productive Community Beat Surgery @WithamHub followed by foot patrol in the town, rescuing a runaway dog, resolved 2 concerns, gathered intel & disrupted anti-social behaviour on the Templars Estate. #MyOtherLife #YouSaidWeDid

A dark, cold & icy night left a driver needing help on Blunts Hall Road & I assisted a Roads Policing Unit with recovery. Foot patrol in the shopping areas & high street before conducting mobile patrols around the town. Vehicles moved on from Haygreen Road #YouSaidWeDid

Witham CSC Officer Penrose conducted foot patrols where he was able to prevent a shoplifting incident in progress & received thanks from the store for being visible. Speed checks were carried out with startling results, 26 verbal warnings & 6 traffic offence reports #VisionZero

I have been active in #Witham over the last 2 days with multiple foot patrols, mobile patrols & incidents attended. Attended shops, library & engaged with many people in the town. I assisted with 2 arrests, a vehicle seizure & all as a volunteer for @EssexPoliceUK #CouldYou

A day on foot patrol in the town centre so I could be 'present' and 'deliver' visibility & reassurance. I visited stores on the high street & Grove Centre & Newlands Precinct before attending an incident on the A12. Returned to the town centre to deter a persistent shoplifter

With busy shops & market ahead of Christmas week we were out on visible foot patrols visiting stores & engaging with people throughout the day. We carried out speed checks on Maldon Rd & Rickstones Rd, for which many people thanked us. 1 ticket issued for speeding! #YouSaidWeDid

Targeted patrols on the Hatfield Rd estate to support CID enquiries followed by general foot patrols to provide reassurance & visibility. Mobile patrols Haygreen Rd, Maltings estate & industrial areas, Freebournes Rd & Eastways. Foot patrol around the town centre #YouSaidWeDid

14 hour shift began with intelligence gathering patrol, a Community Beat Surgery, foot patrol in town engaging with residents, shop staff & a visit to the library. Incident near Cypress Road, conveying 2 suspects to custody & providing recovery support for a broken down vehicle

The #Witham Community Specials provided a visible & reassuring presence for the Christmas Fayre. With more stalls & entertainment, it was great to see people out to join in the festivities. A missing child incident was quickly resolved & the Christmas lights illuminated the town.
