What your future students need isn’t a superhuman teacher who knows absolutely everything, but rather someone who is willing to acknowledge there imperfections and continue to learn and grow with the kids they teach. (and yes, I know I used the wrong form of their/there/they’re)

🍎 Tip Thursday 🍎 Remember that you don’t have to be a perfect student or teacher. We’re all human, and as a result we all make mistakes.

“What if we believed that everything that we had to make great schools was already within our organization, and we just needed to develop and share it?”

🍎 Tip Thursday 🍎 Remember that our to-do lists are usually never ending and continually added to, so don’t try to finish it everyday, just get done what is absolutely necessary and leave the rest for tomorrow.

Always remember you are never alone and ask for help when you need it, it doesn’t make people think less of you. This advice also works for having a teacher bestie/mentor as well! :)

🍎 Tip Thursday 🍎 Find a solid friend in your major and stick with them. I have found it so helpful taking classes with the same person or people. You are able to work on things together and they can also be there for you when things get tough!

🍎 Tip Thursday 🍎 Find the place and way that you study best. It may be in a friend group, by yourself, with music, in silence, or whatever works best for you. It will really help you stay on top of your classes when you find what works!

It’s Tip Thursday! This week we’ll hear from McKenna! “Mistakes are okay; they are a sign of learning and growing. Showing students that even adults make mistakes is okay, too! What is more important is that students learn and have fun, rather than worry about perfection.”
