FHP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement

This week FHP CVE partnered with St. Johns County SO, by providing CMV enforcement training to their deputies and then conducting a combined detail with CVE Jax and SJSO deputies on I95.

Tpr. Nelms and Tpr. Hunter conducted a safety outreach at Teracon, Winter Park. Discussing, CDL's, Load securement, distracted driving, human trafficking, and a roadside inspection demonstration.

CVE Miami-Tpr. Llabre & Tpr. Truyol discussed reducing unsafe driving habits, seatbelt usage, placarding, CSA scores & shipping papers at Sherwin Williams in Hialeah, FL

Last week Over 25 different Law Enforcement Agencies were represented by attendees at Daytona International Speedway to learn the importance of CMV enforcement taught by Sgt. Meredith.

CVE Training, Tpr. Nelms partnered with Vistar in Orlando for their driver safety meeting with discussion on Pre-trip inspections, medical cards, distracted and fatigue driving, and more.

Last week 17 different Law Enforcement Agencies attended CVE Training Sgt. Meredith and Sgt. May who partnered with FDOT LEL Dist. 1 Janice Martinez to bring the importance of CMV enforcement in their jurisdictions.

CVE Ft Meyers Lt. Daughtry and Tpr. Kovach conducted a safety outreach at HONC Industries discussing distractive driving, pre-trip inspections, Cargo Securement, and demonstrations of a roadside inspections.

Troopers Wiilliam and Nelms answered valuable questions and shared information on CDL,s, GVWR, Operating Authority, Medical certs, and much more at the Dumpster Runners Network Spring Training session held in Trinity, FL

Last week FHP CVE Instructors attended the CVSA Instructor re-certification conference held in Savannah. Troopers Nelms and McMahan helped demo FHP training Hazmat Cargo Tanks.

CVE Deland, Congratulations to Lt. Vaughn for 40 years of service and Tpr. Fisher for 20 years of service

Sgt. Gonzalez and Lt. Daughtry conducted an Educational Outreach at the FDOT yard in Fort Myers, local FDOT CDL drivers. Topics discussed: Equipment Safety, Driver Safety, Distractive Driving, Pre-Trip Inspections, CFR Regs, Cargo Securement, and a Level II Inspection demo.

CVE Jacksonville and Lake City joined RB Stewart. Lt. Ruff, Sgt. Moore, and Tpr. Chism shared the importance of driver safety and demonstrated a walk around inspection both in Jacksonville, and Daytona Beach last week.

The cold and rain did not stop CVE Ft. Myers from assisting with this years Publix Truck Driving Championship held in Sarasota on Feb. 5.

CVE Ft. Myers, Lt. Daughtry and Sgt. Gonzalez conducted an outreach for Layne Granite Company. Topics discussed: Equipment Safety, Driver Safety, Distractive Driving, Pre-Trip Inspections, CFR Regulations, Cargo Securement, and a walk around inspection demonstration.

CVE Ft. Myers Sgt. Ferrell and Tpr. Pardal conducted an outreach at Wedgeworth Fertilizer Co. in Clewiston, FL. Educating drivers on the consequences of distracted driving, alcohol & drug use, the importance of the pre & post trip inspection, proper CDL, and endorsements.

CVE Lake City on 12/11/25 Capt. Pace, Sgt. Howard, & Tpr. Taylor partnered with FDOT D2, Safe Kids North Central Florida, Florida Dept of Health, & the UF Public Safety for the Season of Safety event! Certified technicians instructed families how to properly install car seats.
