@stefanroberts @juliamacfarlane Based on government website, if earning on £125k pa, income would be £78k after tax, not sure how that’s 62% exactly…i’d love to have take home pay of £78k!!!!!

It's just insane that a person with no children earning between £100-125k pays an effective marginal tax rate of 62% in the UK. If you do have kids you're actually worse off earning over 100k than you would be below it with childcare subsidies.

@ReemAmirIbrahim I'm curious, how much tax do you pay a year? I suspect you're not a net contributer.

Government pensions are a scam. Younger workers are paying more and more to fund a system that is mathematically impossible to sustain. Would you scrap the triple lock?

@DividendDynasty And yet, the UK state pension is still lower than most our EU counterparts. Boomers being portrayed as scroungers, ironically by the gen z scroungers looking for more handouts.

Very interesting to see this divergence on the right in Britain. Whilst Reform have decided to chase after older voters (like every other party) with boomer communism — Restore is taking a different approach. I am sure they will be rewarded for it.
Rupert Lowe MP@RupertLowe10

Vast numbers of young British men and women have joined Restore Britain today. I want them all to have the same opportunities as my generation. Restore Britain was founded to make that happen, to deliver positive change that will long outlive me. That’s the objective.

@FPL_Chunks @AaronBastani They are two separate things. They interact with each other but they are very separate. The price of oil goes up 50%. That's inflation. Its not a wage rise.

@AaronBastani It should be a 3 year average of GDP growth. Keeps it affordable and sustainable.

For whoever needs to hear this I'm the only Jewish person to lead a political party - third largest in the country. The Daily Mail have been & always will be my enemy - they historically supported fascists & continue to do so. I'll take no lectures from them on Antisemitism.

Another misery caused by Brexit voters Geneva airport: EU citizens queue for passport control empty. Brits queue for over an hour Brexit voters should have to pay a £5,000 tax surcharge for the misery they have inflicted on the rest of us: Higher prices, job & trade losses

@AaronBastani @HFalconerMP What about the 20,000+ that were murdered a few weeks ago Aaron? What about the 500,000+ dead in Syria? Or the dead in Yemen? You play(ed) interference for those regimes, so let’s dispense with the pathetic attempt at concern trolling.

Not quite true but you are either intellectually challenged or or a grifter 1. UK General Elections (Westminster) You must be one of the following: • British citizen • Irish citizen • Qualifying Commonwealth citizen (someone from a Commonwealth country who has permission to enter or stay in the UK, or does not need such permission) Most EU citizens and other foreign nationals cannot vote in UK general elections. 1 2. Local Elections (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland) Rules vary by nation: England & Northern Ireland • Commonwealth citizens can vote. • EU citizens can vote in local elections, except citizens of Cyprus, Malta and Ireland who have full rights. 2 Wales • All EU citizens can vote in Senedd and local elections. • Other qualifying foreign citizens with permission to stay can also register. 2 Scotland • All residents with legal permission to stay — including EU and other foreign nationals — can vote in Scottish Parliament and local elections. 2 3. Irish Citizens Irish citizens have full voting rights in all UK elections, including general elections, due to historic reciprocal arrangements. 3 4. Commonwealth Citizens Commonwealth citizens with the right to remain can vote in all UK elections, including general elections. Examples include nationals of India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Australia, Canada, and many more
Paul Embery@PaulEmbery

It is crazy that non-British citizens can vote in British elections. Truly absurd. The rules plainly need to change.
