This is a very valid observation, and we fully endorse it. We join in calling on @inecnigeria to reconsider their decision to schedule the 2027 general elections during the holy month of Ramadan.
Bashir Ahmad, OON@BashirAhmaad

Dear @INECNigeria This is a respectful observation following the announcement of February 20th and March 6th, 2027, as the date for the next Presidential and National Assembly and Governorship and State Assembly elections respectively. The proposed dates fall within the holy month of Ramadan, a period during which many Muslims devote significant time to fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection. If the intention is to encourage full and inclusive participation in the electoral process, scheduling such a critical national exercise during Ramadan may present challenges for a large segment of the population. Many Muslims tend to reduce engagement in demanding worldly activities during this period in order to focus on religious obligations. Given the significant Muslim population in this country, it may be worthwhile to reconsider the timing to ensure broader participation and convenience for all citizens. I do hope this observation will be taken in the spirit of inclusiveness and national cohesion. Thank you. Bashir Ahmad, OON

In Islam, Jesus (AS) has no biological father. Muslims believe Allah created Jesus miraculously, just as He created Adam without a father or mother. Jesus is regarded as a prophet of God, not the son of God.

For years, Kano, Katsina and other North-Western states should have been working in close partnership with one another, particularly in the areas of security operations and economic development.

@Voiceofigbos I lived in the North for 1 year & 6 months and I can sincerely say I never experienced SARS brutality or the kind of constant police harassment and extortion that was routine in the South-South,East and West.

@MasterMaliq Master Maliq, let’s save you from this long explanation. I have just one simple question for you, Is Jesus (AS) and his mother Maryam (AS) Muslim?

Mary wasn’t wearing a "Muslim dress. There is no such thing as a Muslim dress or a Muslim look. Women in the Levant covered their heads and wore loose garments because that was the culture of the region, long before Islam and long after it. Calling cultural clothing “Islamic fashion” is historically wrong. And yes, Mary is honoured in Islam, and Maryam is a beautiful name. But let’s respect history properly: she dressed like her people, not like a future religion.
David@David_Y3

Mother Mary always dressed like Muslim women and worshiped Allah because she was a devout Muslim woman. May Allah’s peace be upon her. If the Almighty Allah blesses me with a daughter, I would like to name her Maryam.

Is this truly the kind of preaching being delivered in the churches? When pastors use their pulpit to spread misinformation, hatred and hostility, how can anyone be surprised at the growing rise of Islamophobia in this country? Hope the relevant authorities are taking notes.

Every single day, these guys continue to expose how little they actually understand about the very people they spend so much time discussing. Their comments make it clear that they speak with confidence but without real knowledge of the people they claim to know so well. 🤦‍♂️

📷Photo: Away from religious extremism for a moment, I’m genuinely curious... Yoruba have Wole Soyinka, Igbo have Chinua Achebe, who do the Hausa have? Is there any top literary writer from the North?

This happened just this October, yet there’s no outrage from any quarter. Everywhere seems to have gone quiet, no statements, no condemnation, nothing. This silence is troubling. This is not justice.

What is shocking to me is not the hateful generalization towards muslims, especially northern muslims. What shocks me most is the fact that a lot of those spewing the hate get shocked & triggered by our replies. Like i’m shocked that you’re shocked because I responded. Lmao 🤣
