I live in California and the abuses to the system are crazy. 1 in 10 has a handicap pass, and disability fraud is out of control. I could be on SSDI but I work, so I don't collect. I'm only a paraplegic and have some independence so I'm not nearly as f*d as quadriplegics for example. Like I said, I'll go to bat for truly disabled vets any day any time. Regarding Caleb, I'd agree with you on soulless influencers, but, I've seen it too many times myself. And his surprise on the show seems genuine. I have 2 cousins for example who were in Iraq and Afghanistan. 1 definitely has PTSD so I agree he should collect. The other one tore his ACL and it has since healed, and openly admitted to gaming the system to get to 100%. Other friends as well have told me it's a thing. Anecdotal? Sure. Am I extra heated because I'm disabled? Probably. Does that mean it's not a thing? No.

That study got so much sh*t for telling the truth, that it was never replicated. I'll give you guys credit, you sure know how to shout down anyone who challenges your financial stability. Regarding the gwot argument, some of the biggest offenders were Vietnam vets who claimed they had Ptsd and yet never saw action. Nobody wants to touch this with a 10 foot pole because soldiers love getting their checks in the mail. As I've said multiple times. Guys with disabilities should get workers comp, same as the private sector. I'll fight to the death for soldiers on that. The issue is the massively increasing numbers of disability claims and virtually zero reprocussions or regulations. This is why everyone I know who is former military is on it, and everyone who comes on Caleb's show or into his practice is on it. I would even vote in favor of guys who did 10 years getting a pension to make up for it. My issue, as a disabled person, is people abusing the disability designation which f*cks us over in all kinds of ways.

@FastChase @Paulj262 @derek_debus You idiot. This study came out in 2007 and was based on data collected from 99–04 before gwot was even getting started and since this study they have worked to implement more tools to ensure cases are legit. Not to mention your study is only focused on ptsd.

Much of it is based on self reported symptoms, so if you do a tiny but of research and find a lenient doctor or health professional, it's easy to get.

The statistics are there. A peer reviewed study found that in 1/4 of PTSD claims, the individual saw no combat, which means they got really scared when sarge yelled at them in bootcamp. So we know for a fact a minimum of 25% of PTSD claims are complete fabrications. There's plenty of evidence.
