Bresson insisted on complete authenticity. Devigny served as adviser on the film, which was actually shot in the same Montluc prison where he was incarcerated. André Devigny also loaned Robert Bresson the ropes & hooks he had used in his escape.

I can’t even put into words how much I love The Limey. Please see this film, I promise you’re not going to regret it. We lost Terence Stamp this year. If you ever wondered why his passing matters to so many people, this film is just one example. I absolutely adore this movie.
